I have been involved in motorsport for as long as I can remember. My father was a founder of the Ashburton Car Club and mate of Andy McElrea's dad Rod.
I competed in NZ until I was 20 and then left for the UK. In the UK I worked in British F3 and the BTCC and was involved in 3 championship victories (2 in F3 with JJ Lehto and David Brabham and 1 in the BTCC with Will Hoy).
Since returning to Australia I have been involved as a founder and co-owner of V8 Supercar team Tasman Motorsport and am currently a part owner of Triple Eight Race Engineering.
I returned to driving in 2012 doing 4 races in Aussie Race Cars and 2016 will be my third full season of GT3 Cup Challenge.
