It’s always great fun coming to Albert park for the F1 Grand Prix. Unfortunately we started the weekend under the pump with the whole crew having to hustle to put Batesy’s car back together after we took delivery of a bare car on the Wednesday morning after it’s repairs from Clipsal.
The N2C youth safety ambassador did a great job to nab 2nd for the round. He had to race hard but fair to secure his first podium finish in Carrera Cup.
‘Stiggy’ had a 5th, 4th, and and 12th place in race 3. Missing the gear lever when attempting to shift from first to second gear off the start a spin was the result of pushing hard to make up lost places.
Renee made great progress especially after all the media attention in the lead up to the weekend, but she was able to put it all behind her to focus on her steep learning curve.
Not a normal result for Batesy dropping him to 10th place in the Elite category championship hunt. When the team got car 24 back to Qld, we were able to repair the damage from Clipsal properly in preparation for Eastern Creek.
Consistency and staying out of trouble resulted in 7th outright in the Elite category championship standings.
