What are your top 3 career highlights (Motorsport or otherwise)?

• Being selected to attend the BMW Driver Academy in Munich was an incredible experience and a major highlight in my racing journey. Training alongside drivers from around the world and learning directly from BMW Motorsport was something I’ll never forget and aiming to repeat again in 2026.
• Another highlight has been competing in both the Australian Karting and the New Zealand Kart Championships in the Senior KZ class. Racing at that level in such a competitive category helped me develop as a driver and prepared me for the transition into GT racing.
• Outside of motorsport, balancing racing with school has been a big achievement. Completing Year 12 at The Geelong College in 2026 while preparing for my first full national GT racing season is something I’m really proud of.

Other personal interests or achievements you would like to share?

• Outside of racing I enjoy training and maintaining a strong level of fitness, which is an important part of preparing for motorsport.
• Balancing school, travel, and racing has taught me a lot about discipline and time management, and I enjoy following motorsport around the world and continuing to learn from different drivers and categories.

What is your favourite Motorsport moment?

• Representing BMW Motorsport at the BMW Driver Academy in Munich would have to be my favourite moments so far. it was an amazing opportunity to work with BMW engineers and drivers while learning alongside other young drivers from around the world. Driving with Dad last year in our first race together in the Monochrome GT4 Championship at the Sandown, The Bend and Hampton Downs in New Zealand were also highlights.

What is your all-time favourite race car?

• The BMW M4 GT4. It’s an incredible race car and a fantastic platform for drivers moving from karting into GT racing. The engineering, performance and history behind BMW Motorsport make it an exciting car to race.

What is your favourite circuit?

• Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit would have to be one of my favourites. It’s a fast and flowing track that rewards commitment and precision, and it always produces great racing.

Development Pathway

• Jay’s progression from karting in Australia and New Zealand through the KZ gearbox category has been an important steppingstone towards GT racing. The experience gained racing in the highly competitive karting championships during 2024 and 2025 has helped prepare him for the next stage of his career.
  In 2026, Jay begins his first full season in the Monochrome GT4 Australia Championship with McElrea Racing, marking an exciting new chapter as he continues to develop within the BMW Motorsport pathway.
