The AMRC (awesome MR crew) has had mixed results at the historic Sandown Raceway, as it generally seems to favour the Victorian based teams. Having said that, we have also won plenty of races in Carrera Cup and Sprint Challenge over the years. We were keen to add to that tally...
Geez, that was another rough weekend. Harri was on target to extend his championship lead by a large margin until contact with Jackson in race 3 broke his steering. He did in fact extend his lead, but not as much as he would have liked. Jackson had a breakout weekend coming back to 3rd in race 3 after recovering from a spin in race 1 after accidental contact from Christian dropping him to the back of the Pro field.
Pancho had a quiet weekend and is looking forward to getting rid of the cloud that seems to be following him around at the moment. Bayley continues to learn plenty and showed his true speed with a lap time in race 3 that was quicker than the 2nd placed car.
The weekend was notable for Harri, who was named as the Australian Carrera Cup representative at the global Porsche Michelin junior shootout in Europe later in the year. He is our 4th driver to represent Australia, a stat that we are very proud of. It was also Tim Miles' 100th Carrera Cup start, which is an awesome achievement for one of the categories most loyal drivers.
We are looking forward to heading back to one of our favourite race tracks, Mt Panorama, in 7 weeks.
