It is always a bonus when our Michelin Sprint Challenge pilots get to race at a Supercars event and after Tasmania in May, this was our second in a row.
We had tested at SMP a few weeks earlier so were prepared for a great weekend. An added challenge was that our first race on Saturday night was under lights, which is unique in this championship.
Lockie had a strong weekend with the highlight being racing from 7th to 3rd in race 1 but in race 3 he succumbed to the mental and physical demands of racing two cars on the same weekend.
Tom and Caleb didn't have the results they were hoping for but are learning plenty about what is required to run at the front of the most competitive MSC field in history.
Richard had a great weekend, highlighted by 3rd in race 3, taking 5th in Pro-Am. Unfortunately Brett Boulton had to head home after practice on Friday for a personal matter.
As usual, many thanks to the MR drivers, their families, sponsors and supporters and of course the AMRC (awesome MR crew), Lethal Leigh and the Supercoach, Luffy.
Next race is at ‘home’ and QLD Raceway 11-13 August. See you there!
