Long Beach Grand Prix

After launching our new Porsche Carrera Cup team with such a rewarding result at Sebring, Florida last month, we were keen to get to Long Beach to see if we could back up our initial form. Turns out it wasn't a fluke!

Summary

Long Beach threw the lot at us!

In addition to two more second place podium finishes ‘Wombat’ Sargent took his first pole and lead the early stages of race 2.

‘Beaver’ Nepveu took a terrific 11th in race 1 but glanced the wall at the apex of turn 8 in race 2 which sent him into outside wall knocking him out of the race.

McElrea Racing is still sitting 2nd in the North American Teams Championship, Wombat is sitting 2nd in the championship and GT rookie Beaver is 15th.

The awesome MR US crew has plenty of work to do in a short turnaround before we race with F1 in Miami 6-7 May, but we are doing our homework and will be ready to come out swinging as usual!
