After a huge effort turning our cars around then loading two 40’ containers with our four rockets, spares and equipment in the three days available after the AGP in March, it was nice to finally touch down in NZ for our first international race since Malaysia in July, 2017.
After a rough AGP weekend and lacklustre qualifying session Jackson was very happy to get back to his winning ways with victory in race 3 and 2nd for the round. Bayley had an unusually average qualifying session and race 1 but fired back in races 2 and 3 on Sunday with two great forceful drives.
Ryder was the quickest MR car in qualifying and race 1 but early in race 2 he was punted off by the championship leader which completely derailed what was going to be the best Carrera Cup weekend in his short career. Lockie had a massive weekend doing double duty in his Toyota 86 and his Cup Car. He was the victim of a stalled car directly ahead of him in race 2 which took him out of contention but race 3 saw the impressive continuation of his steep learning curve at this level.
